1. Who we are

HUUSH is a Mac app by Metloub. For privacy questions or requests about your information, contact hello@metloub.com. This policy covers the HUUSH app, this website, and communications you send to HUUSH support.

2. Your videos, audio, and transcripts

HUUSH processes imported media, speech recognition, transcripts, and censorship edits on your Mac. These files are not uploaded to HUUSH’s account or licensing service. You control your local projects and exported files. Speech recognition models may require an initial download.

If you choose to email a file or diagnostic information to support, that material is shared with us as part of your request. Please send only the information needed to investigate the problem.

3. Account and licensing information

App builds with account and licensing services use your email address, a device identifier derived from a device public key, licence and activation records, and trial or export allowance records. Export allowance records describe authorisation and completion status; they do not include your video, audio, or transcript. This information lets us verify account access, activate your licence, manage device limits, and prevent abuse.

Where purchases are handled by Polar, that provider processes checkout and payment information under its own policy. HUUSH’s licensing service receives the purchase and licence details needed to verify access. Payment card details are entered with the payment provider, not into this website.

4. Website and support information

Hosting providers may process technical request information such as IP address, browser information, requested URL, and security or error logs to deliver and protect this website. This preview is hosted through OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare; access may use ChatGPT sign-in and essential authentication cookies.

When you contact us, we receive your email address, message, and any files you choose to send. Earlier versions of this website included a review form; information submitted there can include a rating, optional name, review text, account identifier, and timestamps. The review form is no longer displayed.

This website does not add advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts. Browser storage used by earlier versions may retain local preferences or an unsent review draft; you can clear these through your browser’s site-data settings.

5. Why information is used and shared

We use account, licence, and support information to provide the service you request; security information to protect the service and prevent fraud; and transaction records to meet applicable legal obligations. These purposes correspond, where applicable, to performing our agreement with you, legitimate operational and security interests, and legal obligations.

Information is shared only as needed with service providers for hosting, database storage, purchase and licence verification, and email delivery. Current integrations include Cloudflare, OpenAI Sites, Polar, and Resend where those services are enabled. Providers may process data outside your country under their applicable privacy terms and transfer safeguards. Following links to X or Discord takes you to services governed by their own policies.

6. Retention and security

Account and activation records are retained while needed to provide access and resolve licence issues. Purchase records are retained as required for accounting, disputes, and applicable law. Support and previous review records are retained as needed to address the feedback, handle follow-up, and meet legal requirements. Short-lived authentication and security records follow service-specific expiry or cleanup rules.

We use access controls and secure connections to protect information. No system can guarantee absolute security. Deleting local projects does not automatically delete account, purchase, or support records; contact us for a data request.

7. Your choices and rights

You can manage local files on your Mac and contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent where consent applies, and complain to a relevant data protection authority. Some records may need to be retained for legal obligations or legitimate disputes. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

8. Changes

We update this page when the product or its data practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes affecting your information will be communicated where required.
